1. Cancer is the leading cause of death in the United States.

2. Today, few people live as long as five years after being diagnosed with cancer.

3. Early diagnosis of cancer largely relies on  a person recognizing the warning signs.

4. A change in our bowel or bladder habits can be early sign of cancer.

5. Cancer could be the cause of a sore that does not heal.

8. It is a good idea to have an examination by a doctor if a person is bleeding from the rectum.

9. Women should have a mammogram done once a year after the age of 40.
